Estepona – 'garden of the Costa del Sol'
Often referred to as ‘the garden of the Costa del Sol’, Estepona is known for its commitment to sustainability. Every year, the city plants hundreds of thousands of plants, grown in municipal greenhouses, throughout its streets. In the past decade, Estepona has extensively pedestrianised its historic centre, replaced busy streets with green walkways and created dozens of kilometres of new trails. This includes important sections of the Senda Litoral, which connects many communities along Spain’s Mediterranean coast.
